Dressmaking: Archer Shirt for Women

Skill level: advanced beginner and up!  Pattern included.  Bring fabric and basic sewing supplies to first class.

Meets Tuesday mornings Nov 1, 8, 15 and 29 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.

Studio is located at 270 Carpenter Drive, Suite 510.

The Archer Shirt is a classic cuffed and collared button-front shirt with lots of dreamy details to help you grow into a more advanced seamstress–even if you still think of yourself as an “adventurous beginner.”  Learn to topstitch, work with a yoke, make clean pleats, install buttonholes in a placket, and sew a curved hem–all while making a shirt that will become a staple of your wardrobe from a pattern you’re sure to use again.

This friendly and accessible class includes plenty of one-on-one guidance as you select your fabric, prepare your pattern, cut and stitch your way to button-front perfection.  Pattern details, including yardage and notions, can be found on the Grainline Studio website.

Provide your own fabric, thread and buttons–this design is especially dreamy in voile or lawn, and can be very effective in a cozy flannel.  Pattern will be provided electronically.
