Video Tutorial: Kindle E-Reader Cover

Now added to the Whipstitch YouTube channel: a video version of my Kindle e-reader cover tutorial!

This has been a great project that’s been super popular on my blog for years, and I can tell you we honestly have seven of these at our house–and there are only five of us. It goes together REALLY fast and easily, and looks great in every fabric I’ve ever used–although I confess that my favorite is to use a teensy bit of one of my very favorite fabrics so I get to see it all the time!

I love that this cover has a ppocket for log-term storage, but also that there’s a “cover” to protect the screen that can be held in place by a bit of elastic. It makes the e-reader feel more like a book.

Ok I love this! I found the original pattern first and it is a tad small for the current Fire 7 2019. I would add 3/4” to the height. Mine won’t fit in the pocket but that’s ok. I wish I’d added a loop of elastic for a stylus though. Thanks for a great tutorial. Though I made the squares 1/2” smaller and folded then m instead of sewing them. Easier. I needed to make one because I accidentally washed my current kindle. Had to go get a new one and can’t get a case for at least a week if the mail is on time. Though I’ll be using this one for a while. Oh and I used a fav calorie wells linen I’ve had stashe probable since 2012 LOl!
