September do.Good Stitches, Trust Circle: Progress

As host of a new circle over at do.Good Stitches, the Circle of Trust, I had the privilege of planning the September quilt.  I asked our circle to create Card Trick blocks using blues and greens, and they totally delivered.

I’m in the process of completing the quilt top, so I’ll just tease you with a “progress shot” of the blocks readied for stitching together.  Our ten circle members really dipped into their stash and sent some lovely sewing!

Also, and totally as a surprise to me, the lovely Rachel of Stitched in Color (who developed and hosts do.Good Stitches) was unbelievably sweet and stitched custom journal covers for each of the circle hosts–amazingly thoughtful, and so lovely!  Speaking of dipping into the stash: there is totally some Heather Ross double gauze on here, people, and don’t think I haven’t been caressing it lovingly.  It’s hand-quilted, y’all!

So not only do I have the distinct honor of stitching up a quilt for a foster child in need, but I get a lovely and unexpected gift in which to plan future ones.  Giant thanks to Rachel, for organizing the bee and for sending along something sweet to folks who were happy to be part of something so cool, even without a reward.  Today is a good day.
