Sewing for Your Home E-Course
Whether you have a new house or an old one, have just moved or have lived there for years, all of us want our homes to look and feel like us. Fabric and color can be the easiest and most lasting way to make an immediate change in your house’s appearance and in how you feel when you’re in it. The Sewing For Your Home e-course is a five-week virtual classroom specifically designed to help you gain the sewing skills to make your home just what you envision, with skills that anyone can master.
This online class covers the basics of sewing for your home with classic projects that are easy to adapt to your house and your needs. You’ll review the basics of simple construction, and then create a series of finished pieces that will brighten and enliven every room and every occasion! Designed for anyone with basic sewing skills, each of these modern home dec projects can be completed with simple, clear instructions and very few supplies. It’s a perfect online class for someone who hasn’t taken a class online before, and a great way to expand your skills as you grow your sewing! With daily lessons and plenty of feedback, you can make each of these projects your very own and transform your interior.
Using lots of video, clear step-by-step photos, downloadable PDFs and audio lessons, this online class guides you through creating each of the following projects:
- quick-and-dirty sewing basics review
- modern table setting, including four styles of napkins, three types of placemat and a simple table runner
- chic duvet with amazing ruffle detail
- simple shabby chic slip cover
- fitted mid-century modern slip cover
- simple dowel window shade
- Roman shade with ring tape
- tab-top curtain in two lengths
- header tape for formal drapes
- clean bed skirt with yo-yo or fabric flower embellishment
- envelope-back pillow in two fabrics
- piped pillow with zipper closure
- round bolster pillow with tufted ends
For each project, you’ll get complete measurements and up-close guidance to sew exactly the decor or accessory you’re imagining to make your home look like all those photos on Pinterest that make you drool (but that you didn’t think you could achieve). With the help of personal interaction and two live chats, you’ll have the hand-holding you need to take your rooms from “wishing” to “dishy” in just five weeks!
This isn’t just an e-course about making stuff for your house (as awesome as that is). The Sewing for Your Home online class runs from April 23 to May 25, 2012. Lessons are posted daily, Monday through Friday. Students can access the content of the class through August 2012, giving you four months to complete the class at your own pace! Registration fee of $149 includes five weeks of daily instruction Monday through Friday, using video, audio, photos and downloadable PDFs of each project; two scheduled live chats with the instructor and the class; personal feedback from me on your work via Flickr; and a lifetime of skills to make any house a chic, modern home.
