Girls' Ruffled Pillowcase Dress by SimplyModernMom

Today, a guest tutorial!  As I write this, I am envisioning myself recovering from a smooth, happy delivery of our new baby.  Recently, Tiffany over at SimplyModernMom dropped me a note and shared some of these sweet images of her most recent tutorial.  I asked if she’d let me pirate it for the day, in the hopes that planning ahead would help me move along to the enjoyment of bringing our new baby home.  She generously agreed–I hope you love it and make a million of them!

SimplyModernMom is a daily blog by another Atlanta local that covers lot of crafty and family topics, and Tiffany always works hard to showcase sweet projects that appeal to all of us.  She really thinks like a modern mom, and is looking to simplify her life and her family’s so that they get the most out of it–an idea I can totally relate (and aspire) to.  Lots of great tutorials, party ideas, and my favorite: Project 52, a group blog experience where we get a chance to date our husbands one week at a time.

This project, the Ruffled Pillowcase Dress, is quick and simple to make out of vintage or new fabrics, and SO sweet on Tiffany’s little girl.  I especially like the comment one reader left, that this would be a great shape for a doll dress–doesn’t that totally make you want to make a matching set? (I’ve always believed quite strongly that the ultimate act of crafty love–other than letting your child select their own wall color–is making doll clothes, a project whose sole purpose is someone else’s enjoyment and pleasure.)

Hop on over to SimplyModernMom for the tutorial, and let me know if you whip one up!  I have a feeling I’ll be making piles and piles of little bitty girl clothes in the coming months–we’re thinking this is our last baby, so I want to squeeze in all the sweet dresses I can while I have the chance!
