I am delighted to introduce you to my newest Whipstitch sewing pattern: the Pinafore! It’s a super cute, very classic and clean shape for little girls, perfect for any season, all year long.
In sizes 12m to 6T, it grows with her as she grows, and looks fan-tas-tic in any fabric–plus, what a great way to show off vintage or novelty buttons! Wear it alone, over a dress, over a skirt, over pants, shorts, diaper covers–any way you please. And since it’s sized to grow as she does, she’ll wear it for two or three YEARS before you need to hand it down to the next lucky one (we have some of this style that I made for our oldest that my youngest–15 years behind her–is now wearing, so choose good fabric and this could be around for a while!).
I can’t go on enough about how much I love this style, how easy it is to wear, how totally it has become our go-to garment for our girls. They wear them to school, to church, out to dinner with the in-laws, to the playground, to play dates, to the grocery store–and when you have girls who love to wear dresses, but don’t want to have them in too-perfect-to-get-dirty dresses all the time, an easy-to-sew pattern for a pretty dress that they can play in is kindof a must-have. So please: have it!
Click on over to the Pinafore page and grab one for yourself–and I’d love to see your finished photos on the Flickr group when you’re done!
Woot!
