Well, now that it’s 2015, it’s time to wrap up my One Little Word project from 2014! Last year, I invited in the word MARGIN. (Or it invited itself. Whatever.) It was a long year of saying NO and learning that you have to nest before you can lay an egg. Which is not to say that I’m ready to lay an egg, but it is to point out that I learned a lot and let go of a lot in the 12 months I thought about how to give myself space to grow and expand.

January 7, 2015 at 6:11 pmyou slay me… seriously. this is all such good stuff!! priorities are so crucial… and it’s so hard to make them and to keep yourself accountable without feeling shame and doubt when you can’t do it all!!! brilliant!! you’ve helped me think through my word and how i want to check in with it… to see how it’s working throughout the year!

January 8, 2015 at 9:00 amYou never fail to make me smile, and hearing you articulate some of the thoughts is my head just made me go… wuh-what?! Helped me make sense of some stuff… Who knows? I may even choose a word this year. We’ll see…

January 8, 2015 at 10:53 pmWell my experience with 1 little word in the past…well the once I did it….was like your 2012 experience. And I haven’t done it since. Tonight I came to check the boxer post and saw this Video. I watched it. You’re funny and so expressive but the message is pretty darn good. I am getting ready to retire in a few months. I am worried that I will lose more than I am gaining. Not the money but the clear role and the path to accomplishing meaningful things on a regular basis. And it has elements of ego too…who will I be when I am not leading my team, going to many meetings and checking off business goals. So hmmm, maybe I will give some thought to 1 word, a little signpost on the path to a new normal. (And I won’t get up at 5am unless I want too.) I’ll let ya know but thanks Deborah for something to think about and a couple of giggles too…yea, laundry in spareroom sucks!
