Project details: Tracings of each of our six family members’ hands, on standard autumn-leaf-colored construction paper. Cut out and stitched by machine with white thread. Hung from tacks. Simple, simple. Took about an hour, including cutting, with plenty of hands leftover! With our whole family home today (kids: no school; husband and me: avoiding Atlanta’s vile and notorious holiday traffic), this was a fun and funny way to spend our early afternoon. Later: cookies to bake and pine cones to collect for the centerpiece of our holiday table! Hope you and yours enjoy this day to remember what matters most to us, wherever you might be.

December 1, 2010 at 6:54 pmThanks, Dana! Belinda gave me the idea of doing something similar with green paper for Christmas wreaths–I have a feeling I’m one of the last to hear of that idea, but I really love it.
