Speaking of amazing things, I’ve been thumbing through some inspiring images and new books at bedtime lately. I can’t get some of these dresses out of my head:
Given how I feel about plaid, it’s no wonder this is one of my favorites.
And talk about inspiring–I love the flounces and the colors of these party dresses:
Dresses made entirely of bias strips! My delicious obsession!
And lucky for me, I have a new volume to help me get the details just right, the way Coco would have:
All these titles are available from Amazon (where I got mine). Happy stitching, everyone!

January 25, 2011 at 9:50 pmOh my gosh. I am SUPER EXCITED! Thank you so much. (Do I need to email you my info or will you be emailing me?)
That plaid dress you love so much looks just like one I had to wear as a teen. My Mom made us matching dresses of that same era because our town I grew up in has a festival every year called ‘Old Settlers Days’ and in the early years of that festival when my Mom was in charge of quite a lot of it there were tours of the very old homes in town. In each home there were usually 3-4 women dressed in that era dress. I would LOVED it if my Mom had made mine from that gorgeous blue plaid, but sadly no, it was of some ugly blah fabric. LOL
