Last night I whipped up a sample tank top from one of the patterns for the Sewing Knits E-Course that’s running right now. And I don’t say “whipped” to make myself sound all fancy–it really IS that easy. Not that it’s any reason to be sloppy and make mistakes. Can you see where I got a little too excited and cut the stripes so that they match, but are upside-down? Whoops.
The straps are pretty fabulous, though. They’re made with black FOE, and connect low on the back. Soft and smooth, and so easy to do!
Due to the cutting error, this is now heading off to become my oldest child’s new tank top. I hope that doesn’t make me a terrible mother. I mean, she won’t even notice the stripes, right? Wow. This is haunting me. Maybe I should go make her a Halloween costume to offset the guilt. She wants to go as a superhero: SHE, for Super-Hyper-Excitable, whose super power is to make a raging mess in her bedroom in the blink of an eye. I wonder if she can wear this tank top under her cape?
Happy knit stitching, everyone.
